O2 Germany launches pay-as-you roam travel insurance

O2 Germany, the telecommunications brand of Telefonica , has partnered with ERGO to launch a pay-as-you roam travel insurance.

With “O2 Care | Travel”, O2 private customers can take out international health insurance using their smartphone. As soon as the mobile phone dials into a foreign network , the insurance cover begins. It ends automatically when customers dial back into the German network. There are no contract periods – O2 customers only pay for the duration of the trip.

“O 2 Care | Travel” can be added to all mobile phone contracts of the core brand O2 with one click. Customers are then automatically protected abroad and only pay for the duration of their actual stay abroad. For individuals this is 1.29 euros per day, the family tariff is available for just 2.99 euros per day. The international health insurance is valid worldwide with no deductible for trips of up to 45 days. Medical repatriation including an accompanying person is also included. Other additional services include emergency assistance that is available around the clock by telephone.
