AmFam-Backed Cozy Enters Renters Insurance

Online property management platform Cozy has partnered with Assurant to offer renters insurance . Now landlords can show renters if they require renters insurance in their lease. Then renters can purchase insurance via Cozy. They’ll get an instant quote based on their location. Renters can make low monthly payments or get a discount if they pay yearly. Policies cover $15,000 in personal property and $100,000 in financial liability with a $250 deductible. 

Cozy was founded in March 2012 in San Francisco, and is located in Portland, Oregon. It has raised over $18M since inception from AmFam Ventures, GV and Social Capital; to name three. BTW, Cozy isn’t the only company to build and collect renters profiles. UK-based InsureStreet is also working on a proposition that entails creating and sharing renters profiles in order to insert trust into the rental ecosystem.
