On-Demand Insurance Startup Sure Raises $8M in Series A

Mobile-first insurance intermediary Sure, led by Wayne Slavin,  announced it has raised $8M in a Series A round led by IA Capital with participation from quite a few insurers: Nationwide Ventures, Assurant, and AmTrust . This brings the startup’s total funding to date to over $10M. Also Sure announced the launch of a smartphone protection product that “can be purchased any time during a mobile phone’s lifetime, with Sure able to remotely test the health of a device before issuing a policy”. Look.

Sure was established in 2014 and officially launched in 2016. It offers several insurance products including: travel, baggage, renters and mobile protection insurance via its app. And now to marketing…
