Zurich to brokers: grow more, better, together
Zurich used its annual broker meeting in Madrid to outline its 2026 strategy, centered on simplification, service, and innovation as it looks to drive growth across retail, SME, and corporate segments.
The event, held at the Teatro Calderón and attended by more than 120 professionals, focused on strengthening broker relationships while introducing new ways of working aimed at improving efficiency and unlocking commercial opportunities. Zurich framed its direction with the message: grow more, grow better, and grow together.
At the core of the 2026 roadmap are three priorities:
- Simplification: Streamlining products and processes to reduce friction and free up broker sales time, particularly in retail and SME lines.
- Service: Delivering faster, more integrated support to create a seamless experience for clients and intermediaries.
- Innovation: Expanding the use of automation, artificial intelligence, and self-service tools to improve precision and autonomy.
A key initiative highlighted at the meeting was the Business Academy, part of the Elite Companies program, designed to deepen broker capabilities through technical training, access to industry experts, and tools tailored to SME and enterprise risks.
The company also used the event to emphasize talent development and social engagement. A dedicated Zurich Activism day connected insurance professionals with students from a dual vocational training program in Madrid, reinforcing its focus on attracting and developing the next generation of talent.
“Brokers are strategic partners. Zurich’s success is inseparable from theirs. We have evolved our organization to offer a closer, simpler, and more responsive relationship because we want every broker to feel they have a team that supports and encourages them to grow every day.” – Sonia Calzada , Distribution Director at Zurich Insurance.
