Zurich expands graduate scheme with ‘green graduate’ placements
Zurich’s UK arm is ramping up its graduate recruitment efforts for 2023, offering specialized “green graduate” roles in the renewable energy sector. Graduates in the Sustainable Energy Underwriting Graduate Programme will assist global clients in their shift toward sustainable energy solutions.
Selected graduates will receive training in a range of fields, including risk assessment, claims processing, pricing, and insurance frameworks—all tailored toward sustainable energy industries. The insurer is offering a total of 33 graduate spots this year, along with an increase in internship opportunities to 26 for 2024. Placements span seven sectors: Business Management, Data & Analytics, Change & Tech, Engineering, Sustainable Energy, Actuarial, and Finance.
Zurich is taking steps to level the playing field for job applicants. The company has eliminated group interviews to better accommodate neurodiverse candidates and offers customized feedback to all assessed applicants, regardless of the outcome. Additionally, the application process has been designed to prevent bias: Applicants need not disclose their university affiliations, and CVs are not part of the selection criteria.
The application period for both graduate and internship programs will be open from September 11 until November 5, offering candidates an extended window to submit their applications.
