Wordsmith raises $14 million led by Intact Private Capital
Wordsmith AI has extended its Series B financing with a $14 million investment led by Intact Private Capital , alongside existing investors Highland Europe and Index Ventures. FT Ventures also joined the cap table as a new shareholder.
Founded in 2024, the company develops AI software for in-house legal teams, helping enterprises automate routine legal work, reduce reliance on outside counsel, and bring more legal work in-house.
The new funding will support expansion in North America and accelerate growth in the financial services and insurance sectors.
Wordsmith now employs about 170 people, according to LinkedIn, with headcount growing 185% year over year. Following the latest Series B extension, the company has raised approximately $114 million to date.

Intact Private Capital said it invested because regulated industries such as insurance require enterprise-grade legal infrastructure with strong governance and auditability.
“Intact Private Capital is excited to support Wordsmith at this stage of growth. In-house legal teams at financial services and insurance companies need legal infrastructure that can operate at enterprise scale while maintaining the control and auditability required in highly regulated environments. Wordsmith is built precisely for that challenge, with a deep understanding of how these organizations work and the infrastructure to match.” – Justin Smith-Lorenzetti, Managing Director at Intact Private Capital.
Bottom Line: Wordsmith is used by ~500 companies, including BT, Financial Times, Sage, Starling Bank, Canva, and Safelite.
