Aviva CEO Mark Wilson says insurance “has been dominated by two forms of distribution – tied agencies and banks” and both channels are “expensive for consumers”. This is the same guy that thinks, “insurance is in the Stone Age”, and the same guy that promises people close to him, will know where they stand. Recall: Aviva operates two ‘Digital Garages’; one in London and one in Singapore. That’s plenty of digital investments poured into reshaping (or wiping?) old distribution models.
