Wolt partners with on-demand insurance platform Demandoo to serve freelancers

Effective July 1, Finnish food delivery services provider Wolt is offering personal accident insurance (up to $50,000, without a deductible) and third-party insurance (up to $1,000,000) to all its drivers in Israel.

The coverage is secured in partnership with Demandoo , an Israeli broker part of Madanes Insurance Innovation Lab that’s part of Madanes Global , the largest non-life insurance supplier in Israel.

Wolt’s insurance coverage will only be activated from the moment the driver indicates he’s available for delivery, and up to half an hour after he completes his route. Insureds will also be able to file a claim using the Wolt’s app.

Founded in 2019, Demandoo operates in the space of Zego, a UK-based intermediary offering pay-as-you-go insurance for gig economy workers.
