Wingspan raises $24 million
Wingspan, a payroll platform built specifically for independent contractors, has raised $24 million in Series B funding led by Touring Capital, bringing its total capital raised to $54 million. Existing investors Andreessen Horowitz, Long Journey Ventures, Distributed Ventures, Company Ventures, and 186 Ventures also participated.
Founded in 2019, The New York-based startup offers a platform for onboarding and paying contractors, as well as offering benefits such as medical, dental, and vision.
In addition to its Series B raise, Wingspan is announcing Wingspan Embed, a new solution for HR platforms that brings a variety of Wingspan features into their platforms. Some of the features include onboarding, payments, tax withholding, debit cards, instant payouts, and insurance.
