Westfield Insurance Partners with SizeUp Thanks to PnP

Westfield Insurance announced its partnership with 6-year-old SizeUp, “a business intelligence website that provides customized data and analytics to small businesses .” Refresher: the Ohio-based insurer provides commercial and personal insurance in 21 states and surety services to customers in 50 states (including DC), through a network of more than 1,000 leading independent insurance agencies.

This is SizeUp:

And this is SizeUp sizing up the competition of coffee shops in New Orleans:

SizeUp is marketed as a tool to help insurers offer valuable insights to prospects shopping for business insurance. It’s available via Westfield’s site, which BTW enjoys minimal web traffic, according to SimilarWeb, and isn’t mobile friendly (think: text too small to read, clickable elements too close together). Play.

Last, the collaboration is a result of Westfield’s partnership with Plug and Play. “As part of Plug and Play’s insurance vertical program, Westfield Insurance connected with SizeUp to enable business owners to grow and succeed by using data analytics. With Plug and Play’s direct reach to startups across the world, Westfield has a global view into innovations trends within the insurance industry and is helping their customers become smarter, more profitable and more competitive.”

Did You Know? According to ‘a source’, corporate members pay $100,000 annually to become a Plug and Play Ecosystem Member, in return for:

  • Private Deal Flow: technology sourcing and startup introductions (up to six sessions per year)
  • Public and private events and workshops (attendance and participation)
  • Branding and community presence in Silicon Valley
  • Event sponsorship and speaking engagements

And yes, Plug and Play offers more than one type of membership package.

Op-Ed: I’m left wondering, if anyone can access the data on SizeUp by creating an account for free, what’s the value of this brand tie-up?
