Westfield expands into inland marine

Westfield Specialty  is entering the U.S. inland marine market, hiring David Roos as SVP to build and lead the new business.

Roos brings 17 years of underwriting experience, most recently at Markel, with prior roles at The Hanover Insurance Group and Zurich Insurance Group. He will begin underwriting immediately while assembling a dedicated inland marine team.

The move expands Westfield Specialty’s property offering beyond shared and layered property and middle market property, adding a new line aimed at brokers and agents seeking broader specialty coverage options.
