W. R. Berkley combines Verus and Vela

W. R. Berkley  has formed Berkley Meridian by combining Verus Specialty Insurance and Vela Insurance Services under a shared leadership structure.

The new specialty business will serve the E&S wholesale market across construction, professional liability, garage, casualty and other specialty lines. Integration is underway and is expected to continue into early 2027.

Marlo Morrison, president of Verus since 2019, will lead Berkley Meridian as president. She has nearly 30 years of property and casualty insurance experience.
