Vienna Insurance Group introduces a cashback offering
Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) is introducing Koopilot, a new telematics app that gives policyholders the option to earn cash back for safe driving.
The new app and coverage will initially be offered by VIG subsidiary Kooperativa, which is based in the Czech Republic.
Every three months, the app will provide a driving score and calculate cash back earnings that can range from 10% to 40%. In addition, the app features an SOS emergency button that enables a user to initiate a call request to VIG Global Assistance. The user will receive an immediate call back to discuss next steps and if they are unable to speak with the assistance team, emergency services will be dispatched to the scene of the accident.
The app is powered by Austrian company Dolphin Technologies.
“For some years now, we have been pursuing the objective of expanding our business model to include offerings that are not primarily related to insurance, i.e. safeguarding against risks. We made a highly successful start to this strategy ten years ago when we set up our own assistance companies ‘Global Assistance’. By offering customers a telematics app, we are taking yet another step forward in offering digital services that provide valuable additional benefits.” – Elisabeth Stadler, CEO of Vienna Insurance Group.
