Update on The Co-operators’ Home to Be App

In late 2018, we covered The Co-operators’ Home to Be initiative – powered by IBM Cloud (the only winner in this story). Refresher: Home to Be was an info app for first-time homebuyers to help them make a smart purchasing decision. Home value, anticipated repair costs, estimated insurance needs, and neighborhood trends are some of the intel the app offered – for free.

Our Home to Be app was decommissioned on May 31, 2019. As a pilot project, it provided great information for first-time home-buyers; however, we have more work to do, and are taking some time to explore how to build upon what we’ve learned.

However, the Canadian insurer is offering a Home buyer’s checklist-pdf for site visitors to download. Bottom Line: A downgrade.
