Travelers Offers Real-Time Customer Alerts for Agents
The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TRV) today announced that independent insurance agents who use the EZLynx Management System will now be notified instantly when their Travelers personal auto insurance customers make a policy change in the MyTravelers® self-service portal. The EZLynx Management System dashboard is updated in real time when a customer adds or removes a vehicle, modifies a deductible, changes their address, adds a driver or makes other modifications to their policy.
“Simplifying processes and providing exceptional service for both agents and customers are key priorities for us, and real-time alerts do both,” said Loree Toedman, Vice President of Field Sales for Personal Insurance at Travelers. “Agents are able to spend more time providing valuable insurance advice, and customers who prefer to manage their policies online have a more seamless experience.”
“Consumer demand for service excellence is on the rise and features like real-time messaging enable the agents more visibility into their customers’ activities,” said David Taylor, Vice President of Product for EZLynx. “EZLynx began as a real-time rating service and with the support of our carrier partners, like Travelers, we have been able to continue that philosophy through to policy servicing in the EZLynx Management System. We look forward to expanding the types of messages and related workflow automation on the platform.”
Self-service customer updates are traditionally processed through batch system notifications that do not immediately reach agents. Now, with real-time alerts, agents using EZLynx can quickly and accurately consult with their customers to confirm that a policy change is appropriate for their needs.
“Agents have indicated their support for self-service tools, but they also need to stay connected to their customers to offer guidance when a policy change is made,” said Ron Berg, Executive Director of Agents Council for Technology at the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America. “Real-time notifications are an example of how the industry is evolving to build a more efficient partnership between carriers and agents that better supports their mutual customers.”
