The Ardonagh Group, an independent broker and underwriting group, was formed last month after Towergate and four other intermediaries: Autonet Insurance Group, Chase Templeton, Ryan Direct Group and Price Forbes & Partners were brought together under one holding company. Here’s a closer look at its portfolio:
Autonet Insurance Group
An independent van insurance broker in the UK established in 1998. Distribution is primarily online through price comparison websites, its own website and call centers. It offers additional insurance products such as home, auto and small business insurance, to name a few.
Chase Templeton
One of UK’s leading’s health insurance and protection specialists established in 2002. They’ve fostered partnerships with several private healthcare providers including Aviva, AXA PPP Healthcare, BUPA, The Exeter, Vitality, Simply Health and Western Provident Association.
Ryan Direct Group
An innovative provider of insurance solutions to the UK general insurance industry since 1990 providing underwriting, claims management and policy administration services. Known for its expertise in the specialist and niche personal lines sector.
Price Forbes & Partners
An independent, specialist international wholesale insurance broker headquartered in London employing over 300 staff. It was established in 1893 and is known for placing non-standard risks for large multi-national companies.
Towergate
UK’s leading independent insurance broking platform providing insurance products to small and medium sized enterprises and corporate clients. It was established in 1997.
Bottom Line: the Ardonagh Group is now led by David Ross, the former CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher, which at one point sued him for breach of contract.
