Canadian P&C insurer The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group announced the launch of Host Shield Insurance , a policy designed for people leasing their homes on a short-term basis on sites such as Airbnb, FlipKey and HomeAway. The policy protects against theft, vandalism and “innkeeper’s liability” up to $10,000 per claim. “Home sharing sites like Airbnb are realities of the new economy and many of our clients in small and rural communities are leveraging them for additional income.
