Tesla Insurance is now available in Texas
Tesla Insurance is now available in the state of Texas .
On its site, Tesla states that car insurance in Texas will be based on real-time driving behavior using the new Safety Score tool, which assesses driving behavior by taking into account five different metrics. And based on the following tweet, premiums will be adjusted on a monthly basis to reflect a driver’s driving behavior.

Each Tesla Insurance customer starts with a score of 90 and the company gives customers a 30-day notice before any premium changes. The company estimates that the majority of drivers will have a Safety Score of 80 or higher.
The factors affecting a driver’s Safety Score include forward-collision warnings, hard braking, aggressive turning, unsafe following, and forced autopilot disengagements. Tesla will provide tips on how to improve the Safety Score.
