Sun Life expands AI tools for advisors

Sun Life Financial has expanded its AI tools for Canadian advisors with an AI-powered advisor concierge, following the rollout of Notes Assistant.

Notes Assistant uses generative AI to securely summarize client meetings, compile action items and draft follow-up emails. Sun Life says the tool saves advisors 15 to 30 minutes per client session and recently received a 2026 CIO Award Canada.

The newly launched advisor concierge helps advisors find information about products, policies and internal processes. Since its July launch, the tool has been used in more than 11,000 client conversations, according to Sun Life.

The company said the tools are part of a broader responsible AI strategy, which also includes its proprietary agentic AI platform for technology architects and its founding membership in the AI Consortium.

“Strong financial advice starts with understanding what matters most to each Client. The best advisor relationships are built through conversations, trust and a deep understanding of a Client’s goals, not paperwork. By helping advisors spend less time on administrative work, we’re enabling them to focus on the relationships that matter most.” – Jessica Tan, EVP & President, Sun Life Canada.
