Spotted Launches Disgrace Insurance

Spotted, “the authority in celebrity data, research and risk analysis,” is launching disgrace insurance.

Founded in 2016 and led by Janet Comenos, the Boston-based startup offers brands “rich evaluation” of Hollywood talent, athletes, and endorsers, including risk assessment, personality analysis and Consumer Approval™ measurement. SpottedRisk collects more than 400 biographical data points on each person, which are then analyzed by the startup’s behavioral psychologists and statisticians against research on disgraceful behaviors to predict the risk of a future controversial event.

In the US, disgrace insurance has risen as much as 2,000% over the last couple of years due to a growing number of sexual assault and harassment cases coupled with today’s social media-driven environment, where every single thing a celebrity does is immediately available for public consumption. Spotted will begin selling disgrace insurance in August, with payouts that begin at $10 million – 40 times higher than comparable existing policies – backed by Lloyd’s of London syndicates.
