Sompo names co-chief digital officers
Sompo Holdings appointed Masayuki Kimura and Ryuichi Yoshimura as Group Co-Chief Digital Officers, effective September 4, 2025, as part of its effort to accelerate its Digital Data AI Transformation (DDAX) strategy. Yoshimura joins from JPMorgan Securities, where he served as Chief Data Officer for Japan and South Korea. He brings experience in data infrastructure and governance from roles at Nomura Holdings and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.
Kimura, who has led innovation efforts at Deloitte Tohmatsu Venture Support, will continue to drive digital implementation across business lines. The new leadership structure supports Sompo’s ongoing investment in its SOMPO Digital Labs in Japan and North America, and reflects a broader push to embed digital and AI initiatives as core business drivers.
Group CEO Mikio Okumura will oversee the DDAX strategy directly, as the company focuses on scaling open innovation and transforming business models across the group.
