Sompo International further expands into France with appointment of Jean-Marie Guegan

Sompo International announced that Jean-Marie Guegan has joined the company as Head of Accident & Health (A&H) Insurance, France. He will report to Marilyn Faugas, Country Manager, Insurance, France. Mr. Guegan will be based in Paris. The company is in the process of establishing insurance operations in France, subject to required regulatory notifications.

Ms. Faugas said, “Jean-Marie brings more than three decades of A&H insurance industry experience, both in France and abroad. He is well-respected for his ability to develop, implement and execute on successful business strategies and he will be an asset as we grow our A&H capabilities and expand this team. I look forward to working with Jean-Marie as we continue to differentiate Sompo International in the market by providing comprehensive solutions for our clients and distribution partners.”

With over 35 years of insurance industry experience, Mr. Guegan joins Sompo International from Generali, where he was most recently Global Head of Underwriting, Personal Accident, Affinity and Business Travel Accident insurance. Prior to that, he held various A&H management and leadership roles with AIG in France, South Africa, Dubai and Greece.
