Sompo appoints Richard Higa as Group Deputy Chief Audit Executive

Sompo has appointed Richard Higa as Group Deputy Chief Audit Executive (CAE), effective November 1, 2025.

Based in Tokyo and reporting to David Camputo, Group CAE, Higa will oversee audit functions across Sompo’s global operations, including property and casualty insurance, life insurance, healthcare, and digital transformation initiatives.

According to Camputo, Higa’s appointment reinforces Sompo’s commitment to strong governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Higa brings extensive experience from Manulife Japan, Prudential Japan, Goldman Sachs, and KPMG, where he led internal audit and risk management functions across global teams.

His leadership is expected to enhance Sompo’s audit capabilities and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and resilience as the company continues its next phase of growth and transformation.
