Slide profit jumps, shifts focus beyond Florida
Slide Insurance reported fourth-quarter net income of $170.4 million, more than double the prior year, driven by a quiet storm season, favorable reserve development, and continued policy assumptions from Florida’s Citizens Property Insurance.
Revenue rose 46% to $347 million and the combined ratio improved to 38%. The insurer assumed about 152,000 policies during the quarter, ending 2025 with roughly 493,500 policies in force, up 44% year over year.
With Citizens depopulation opportunities expected to slow, the company is shifting toward national expansion.
Slide plans to launch an excess and surplus product in California within 30 to 60 days and begin writing in New York and New Jersey in the first half of 2026, followed by Rhode Island and additional coastal markets later in the year.
