Simplicity acquires August H. Velten & Associates

Simplicity Group Holdings  has acquired August H. Velten & Associates, an independent retail wealth management and annuity producer based in Melbourne, Florida.

As part of the transaction, founder August Velten will become a Simplicity Partner, and the registered investment advisor is expected to rebrand as Simplicity Wealth Advisors: Melbourne.

Velten & Associates is a family-owned financial practice focused on retirement planning and wealth management services for individuals and couples.

According to Simplicity CEO Bruce Donaldson, the deal reflects the firm’s approach to succession planning for affiliated advisors. Velten said the partnership will provide access to additional technology, products, and operational support while establishing a long-term continuity plan for clients.

Simplicity, which partners with financial advisors and institutions across wealth management and insurance, has completed a series of acquisitions as it expands its distribution network and advisor base.
