Silicon Valley’s Financial Advisor

Meet SecFi, the fintech company building pre-wealth financial products:

Founded in 2017 after Wouter Witvoet, its founder, lost his stock options, the San Francisco-based startup is building products for employees and shareholders of growth and late-stage private companies so they can exercise their stock options. Secfi offers three products: (1) Option exercise tax planning – A tool that calculates the exercise cost and associated taxes based on individual’s tax situation, including ordinary income, alternative minimum tax, and other taxes associated with option exercise. (2) Option exercise financing – covers the entire exercise cost and taxes associated with exercising stock options. And (3) Shareholder loans – Private company stock loans – for each $1 of equity value SecFi lends $0.33 to holders of private company stock of growth and late-stage private companies.

SecFi’s vision is to be the financial advisor that helps employees and shareholders before they are wealthy and are “bombarded by a plethora of ‘old school’ financial advisors.”

Bottom Line: Your next partner.
