Seven-Eleven partners with MS&AD Insurance Group
Seven-Eleven Japan, the country’s largest convenience store chain, will offer cancer insurance from MS&AD’s affiliate Mitsui Sumitomo Aioi Life Insurance at its over 20,000 stores as the insurer looks to expand its sales channels at a time when the coronavirus made it difficult for agents to visit homes or meet customers in person.
Customers visiting a Seven-Eleven store will be able to share the required information through multi-function machines and pay the policy fee at the store’s cashier. They will also be able to preregister for the insurance using their smartphones or personal computer and contact a call center manned by licensed agents for any questions about the product or service.
Seven-Eleven said it hopes to achieve 60,000 new contracts by next March.
