Seibels selects OnBase by Hyland for better information management

The Seibels Bruce Group Inc. (Seibels), an insurance services provider of business process outsourcing (BPO) solutions, has selected OnBase by Hylandto replace its former document management application.

After a comprehensive search for an enterprise content management (ECM) solution that is more than just a content repository, Seibels contacted Hyland because of its reputation and success within the insurance industry. Leveraging OnBase, integrated with Guidewire InsuranceSuite™, Seibels gains a best-in-class enterprise information platform equipped with ECM, case management, business process management, records management and capture functionalities.

“Over the past year, we’ve made tremendous investments into our technology portfolio to give us the right tools to provide superior customer service with a lower total cost of ownership,” said Steve Harding, vice president of insurance services at Seibels. “From our first interaction with Hyland, it was evident that we’d selected the right technology partner to help us achieve success with proven insurance solutions to improve business agility and enhance operational efficiencies.”

By implementing OnBase, Seibels will achieve records management capabilities and enhanced security throughout the content lifecycle with powerful encryption components that meet PCI and DSS compliance standards. Benefits include simplified security policies and granular control over data accessibility. Once retention dates have been met, the enterprise information platform automatically sends documents for appropriate final disposition, according to requirements.

Additional information management capabilities Seibels will leverage with OnBase include:

  • Out-of-the-box Workflow and Case Management capabilities to manage and improve both unstructured work and structured, repeatable processes.
  • Integration with Microsoft Outlook to access essential content directly from employees’ inboxes, capturing emails and attachments, and linking them to the appropriate customers or processes.
  • Data capture solutions utilizing Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to automatically extract and validate critical information then update relevant systems.

“The long-term viability and robust functionality within OnBase will bring true transformation to operations at Seibels,” said Cara McFarlane, global insurance portfolio marketing manager at Hyland.

“By selecting two best-in-class solutions, OnBase integrated with Guidewire InsuranceSuite, Seibels is set up for success not only in its immediate underwriting projects but also with its future plans to extend OnBase throughout the enterprise.”
