Philadelphia-based BenefitVault, a technology startup that provides a payment service for the insurance industry, laid off the majority of its staff last month. The startup once dreamed of becoming the PayPal of insurance and secured $3.8 million to move from dreaming to doing. Sometimes doing nothing is also a strategy.
