Scottish Widows appoints Paul McNamara as non-executive director
Scottish Widows has announced that Paul McNamara will join its Board as a non-executive director in September 2024.
Paul brings over 35 years of experience in financial services, specializing in long-term savings, investments, retail banking, asset management, and insurance. His career includes senior roles at McKinsey, AXA, HBOS, Standard Life, and as Managing Director of Insurance and Investments at Barclays. He also served as CEO of IFG Group and, most recently, of EValue, a UK-based technology company focused on digital personal finance advice.
After stepping down from EValue in 2020, Paul continued as a non-executive director for its start-up subsidiary, One Financial Advisor Ltd, until 2022. He also joined Wesleyan’s With-Profits Board Committee as an independent member in 2021. Additionally, Paul is involved with the Worshipful Company of Actuaries, where he chairs the Membership Committee.
With his background in financial strategy, technology, and transformation, Paul is expected to bring valuable insights to the Scottish Widows’ Board, supporting the company’s strategic goals.
