Ryan Specialty launches public entity MGU

Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers formed a new managing general underwriter, Ryan Specialty Public Entity, to serve tax-funded public sector risks across the US. The unit offers casualty and auto physical damage solutions on both an insurance and reinsurance basis for cities, counties, municipalities, special districts, schools, and state entities.

The business is led by president Chris Connacher, who joins with deep public entity underwriting experience.

Ryan Specialty  is positioning the MGU as a response to a dislocated, underserved market, emphasizing tailored structures and stability for municipal and educational accounts.
