Ryan Specialty launches global renewables platform

Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers has announced the formation of Ryan Specialty Renewables, a new international unit that consolidates its renewable energy MGUs—PERse Americas, PERse International, de novo formations, and Albus (acquired via Castel Underwriting Agencies in 2024). The integration will roll out through the second half of 2025.

The new platform will offer insurance solutions for offshore and onshore wind, solar, battery storage, and other energy transition assets worldwide. Coverage will span operations, construction, transit, and natural catastrophes, with plans to expand as global energy demands evolve.

Ryan Specialty says the move creates a unified, globally connected renewables platform with deeper technical capabilities, shared insights, and a broader product suite. Leadership includes Mark Engel as CEO of Marine & Energy, Jeff Smith as President of North America for Ryan Specialty Renewables, and Stuart Burchell as President of International.
