Rega Risk Sharing Moves from Cats to Luggage

Meet Rega:

The blockchain startup, established in 2016 and led by cofounder and CEO Sergei Sevriugin, has raised ~$500K in ICO to develop an open-source platform for crowdsurance. In March 2017 it launched its first product for pet owners called Lexi Club. Here’s how it works: pet owners sign up via Facebook Messenger and chip in about $5/month to get reimbursed for up to 80% of their veterinary costs. They also get access to a 24/7 hotline for consultations with a vet. Two more things: insurance is activated after 5 days, to avoid fraud, and Lexi promises to pay claims within 90 hours.

Moving on…now, the startup claims to offer coverage for lost luggage. “The insured must provide us with their boarding pass, air tickets, and confirmation from the air carrier that their luggage has been lost. We then do verification with the air carrier and make payment” – Sergei Sevriugin.
