ReachNow Partners with Xscape Pod to Offer Camping Gear Rentals
Today, ReachNow, the car sharing and ride-hailing company now part of the BMW Group and Daimler mobility services joint venture, announced a partnership with Xscape Pod, a Portland, Ore. based company that offers camping gear rentals, a campsite concierge and other services that make it easy for campers of all experience levels to explore the outdoors. Together, ReachNow and Xscape Pod are making it easy to go camping with an end-to-end camping and car rental offering, including 20 percent off Xscape Pod rentals and special day rates as low as $50 per day for ReachNow cars throughout the summer.
ReachNow offers a flexible, convenient alternative to the traditional car rental model. Rather than requiring an advance reservation, visit to a rental counter or to refill the gas tank before returning the car, ReachNow has more than 1,000 cars in Seattle and Portland that are ready for on-demand trips. Once completing sign up, open the ReachNow app to find any available car near you and drive that car for up to five days.
The ReachNow fleet includes a mix of five different models of BMW and MINI vehicles. Existing ReachNow Members love the BMW 3-Series, which is outfitted with a State Park Passs, and the MINI Clubman for trips out of town. All cars in the fleet feature upgrades that rental companies often upsell for, including leather seats, in-car navigation, Bluetooth and sunroofs. The first tank of gas is free and, the best part? No need to return to a rental location or specific parking space – every ReachNow car has a special parking permit that enables the Member to park for free in any on-street parking space within the coverage area. For most people living within city limits, this would include your neighborhood.

The introduction of camping gear rentals and a campsite concierge through Xscape Pod is an extension of ReachNow’s popular summer program, Wild Within Reach, which is aimed at inspiring people in (and visitors to) Seattle and Portland to explore more of the Pacific Northwest. Last year, thousands of ReachNow Members took advantage of multi-day rentals to explore local state and national parks, including Mt. Rainier National Park (WA), Deception Pass State Park (WA), Federation Forest State Park (WA) and Ecola State Park (OR). ReachNow has once again outfitted BMW vehicles in both the Seattle and Portland fleets with respective state park passes, granting free park entry beginning May 1, 2019.
