QBE North America’s CEO steps down from role

QBE Insurance announced the exit of CEO Todd Jones from QBE North America .

“During his time with QBE Todd has simplified our North America operations to focus on investing and growing our three core insurance segments of Crop, Specialty and Commercial while exiting several underperforming and sub-scale businesses. He has also worked to de-risk much of our long tail reserves and reshape the overall portfolio.” – Group Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Horton.

Julie Wood has been appointed to the role of Interim CEO North America as the insurer undertakes a search process to fill the role on a permanent basis. Julie joined QBE in January 2023 as Group Head of Distribution. She was previously at Marsh as their South East Partnership & Zonal leader, and member of the US Executive Committee. Previously, she had the position of Zonal Casualty Leader at Marsh in Atlanta. Julie has also held several senior executive roles at Zurich for 15 years and is US based. Todd will leave QBE at the end of August and work with Julie to ensure a smooth transition.
