Protective taps Jeff Wasco to lead Employee Benefits business

Protective Life has promoted Jeff Wasco to SVP, Employee Benefits. He will oversee operations, sales, distribution, product management, and go-to-market strategy for the unit, reporting to Aaron Seurkamp, SVP and President, Protection & Retirement Division.

The move follows Protective’s November 2024 acquisition of ShelterPoint Life and marks a milestone in integrating the Employee Benefits business. ShelterPoint has expanded into Minnesota, Delaware, and Maine as a private plan provider for Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), ahead of coverage mandates taking effect in 2026.

Wasco, who joined Protective in 2024, brings over 20 years of group benefits experience, including leadership roles at Guardian Life.
