Protecta rebrands to Assurant
Assurant , a global provider of risk solutions, has finalized the rebrand of Protecta Insurance to Assurant, marking the completion of its acquisition announced in December 2022. Alongside the rebrand, Assurant introduced the Assurant Vehicle Care® suite, consolidating its automotive products and solutions under one unified brand.
The new offerings include:
- Mechanical Breakdown Insurance
- Motor Vehicle Insurance
- Classic Vehicle Insurance
- Motorcycle Insurance
- Guaranteed Asset Protection
- Payment Protection Insurance
Policies will continue to be issued by Protecta Insurance New Zealand Limited (now branded as Assurant) as an agent for Virginia Surety Company Inc. (VSC), which is part of Assurant and holds an A+ financial strength rating from AM Best. Protecta was previously recognized with a 5-star Canstar Award for Outstanding Value Car Insurance in 2023.
The rebrand also includes the launch of a new dealer portal and an improved customer site for purchasing motor vehicle insurance, further strengthening Assurant’s presence in the New Zealand and Asia-Pacific automotive sectors.
