ProSight Direct Expands Insurance Offering

ProSight Specialty announced the expansion of ProSight Direct, its online direct-to-consumer platform. The platform, which offers customized insurance for small business professionals, is now available for customers in the fitness and wellness industries.

ProSight Direct walks professionals through a series of clear, plain-language questions specific to their industry. The process is quick and easy to understand, and professionals are able to get a quote in under a minute and complete the purchase online. From yoga instructors to personal trainers and dietitians – customers can get an insurance plan tailored to their business needs.

“We realize these small business owners don’t have the time to become insurance experts – they seek a simplified process, focused on their specific needs, with service they can trust,” said Joe Beneducci, CEO of ProSight Specialty Insurance. “We’ve used our insurance expertise and industry-leading technology to develop a platform that can address these priorities for small businesses.”

The expansion of ProSight Direct coincides with an undeniable tide of growing interest in the personal fitness, health and wellness industries. According to a 2016 Yoga in America Study conducted by Yoga Journal and Yoga Alliance, there were two people interested in becoming a yoga teacher for every one current teacher.

Meanwhile, the United States Department of Labor estimates that jobs in personal training and fitness instruction will increase by 24 percent between 2010 and 2020, while employment of dietitians and nutritionists is projected to grow 15 percent from 2016 to 2026.

“The days of walking into an insurance office are long gone. Today’s small business professionals want to research, select and purchase coverage in a few clicks on their phone and that’s what we deliver,” said Darryl Siry, President of ProSight Direct. “While many online brokers exist, none of them provide the end-to-end online service experience from a trusted insurance company like ProSight.”

ProSight celebrated the successful launch of ProSight Direct in April and reported strong financial results for the first half of 2018. The growth into new markets bookends a year of continued growth and increasing profitability for the company, which plans to make ProSight Direct available for business consultants and freelancers in early 2019.
