Progressive partners with Cleveland WNBA team
Progressive has signed a multiyear agreement to become the exclusive insurance partner and second founding partner of Cleveland’s new WNBA franchise.

Beginning with the team’s inaugural season in 2028, Progressive’s branding will appear on both the chest and abdomen of player jerseys. According to the team, it will be the first multiyear arrangement placing one company in both positions on a WNBA jersey.
The Ohio-based insurer will also have an annual opportunity to serve as the presenting partner for a theme and giveaway night. The parties plan to collaborate on yearly community initiatives, beginning with support for transitional housing organizations across Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and Western New York.
Progressive follows KeyBank, which was announced as the franchise’s first founding partner. The yet-to-be-named team will begin playing at Cleveland’s Rocket Arena in 2028.
“As a company that supports and champions women, prides itself in being headquartered in Cleveland and believes deeply in giving back to our communities, we’re thrilled to begin our multi-year commitment to the Cleveland WNBA who embodies these same values. Our dynamic leadership duo of female CEO and Chairperson of the board, illustrates our commitment to women at the highest level and inspires us to follow the example set by our CEO Tricia Griffith in investing in our community, and women’s sports, as she has done by personally investing to bring women’s soccer to our hometown through the Cleveland Astra, the first women’s pro soccer team in Cleveland. When professional women’s basketball returns to Cleveland, we’re proud to have the Progressive brand displayed on the team’s jerseys and in our hometown.” – Mari Pumarejo, Chief Marketing Officer, Progressive.
