ProAssurance backs Caresyntax

AI-enabled, data-assisted surgery platform for surgeons Caresyntax has closed a $180 million Series C extension round, bringing its Series C fundraising total to $310 million.

Participants in the round include Aescuvest, Blackrock Innovation Capital, Lauxera Capital Partners, MTIP AG, Optum Ventures, PFM Health Sciences, Pictet Alternative Advisors, Plug and Play, ProAssurance , Relyens, surgical.ai, Symbiotic Capital, and Vesalius Biocapital Partners.

Founded in 2013, Caresyntax’s platform collects, integrates, and analyzes data before, during, and after surgical operations. By linking data from disparate sources on a unified vendor-neutral platform, Caresyntax supports surgeons in optimal preparation, helps patients understand and prepare for their procedures, and assists surgical teams in managing their workflows to minimize risk from procedural variance.

The platform’s data collection and analysis capabilities also enables post-surgical risk assessment and tailored patient care, leading to faster recovery times, reduced costs, and improved overall healthcare delivery. Currently, Caresyntax’s software is used by over 30,000 surgical professionals across more than 3,500 operating rooms worldwide.
