Pikl rebrands around short-term rental growth
UK-based pikl has unveiled a rebrand reflecting its expansion from host insurance into products designed to help short-term rental operators offer flexible bookings and protect revenue.

Established in 2016 as Inlet, the company adopted the Pikl name in 2019. Its initial focus was insurance for hosts renting out properties through platforms such as Airbnb and Vrbo.
According to founder and CEO Louise Birritteri, demand for more flexible booking terms following pandemic lockdowns prompted Pikl to work with property managers on cancellation risk. That work broadened its focus to products that support booking conversion and create additional revenue opportunities.
Pikl’s current offerings include flexible cancellation, a damage deposit alternative, and host insurance. Its cancellation product allows guests to receive refunds under agreed terms while property managers recover the value of the stay under their Pikl coverage. The damage deposit product lets guests pay a smaller fee instead of providing a deposit, subject to the operator’s terms.
Developed with creative studio OHMY, the rebrand introduces “Pikl it” as a theme connecting the company’s insurance roots with its broader positioning around managing risk and supporting growth in the marketplace economy.
