Pets Best expands relationship with Independence Pet Group

Pet insurance company Pets Best and JAB’s Independence Pet Group announced an expanded partnership with IPG’s wholly owned subsidiary, Independence American Insurance Company, whereby IAIC will provide insurance underwriting services for Pets Best.

Pets Best has an underwriting relationship with Trupanion but last year company leaders said that Pets Best will transition to a different underwriter in order to free up capital reserves. In 2022, Trupanion subsidiary American Pet Insurance Company reported 341 million in premiums from Pets Best. IAIC reported 27 million in premiums from Pets Best for the same period.
