PenSam Partners with Allianz Global Investors
Allianz Global Investors and PenSam formed a EUR 300 million infrastructure investment partnership focused on global projects, particularly in Europe. The three-year mandate, with potential for renewal, aims to advance PenSam’s geographic diversification and sustainability goals through co-investments alongside AllianzGI.
For PenSam, the deal expands its exposure to infrastructure funds and aligns with its ESG-focused strategy. AllianzGI was chosen for its track record of long-term returns and responsible investment approach. The partnership follows a co-investment model already used by PenSam in private equity, offering cost-efficient access to infrastructure opportunities while maintaining risk control.
“We have high expectations for a partnership with AllianzGI, a globally recognized asset manager with strong expertise in infrastructure and ESG. The collaboration will support PenSam’s ambition to deliver solid, long-term returns for our members.” – Jeppe Starup, Head of Private Capital and Real Assets at PenSam.
“We are delighted about this partnership with PenSam, a leading Danish institution and like-minded investor, which reflects the strength of our investment capabilities and our deep understanding of long-term institutional needs and ESG criteria.” – Maria Aguilar-Wittmann, Co-Head of Infrastructure Fund, Co-Investments & Secondaries at AllianzGI.
