Paro raises $10 million

Paro, the Chicago-based marketplace where companies can find and hire “top-tier financial professionals” offering CFO leadership, accounting, bookkeeping, financial planning, analysis and more, has raised $10 million in a Series A round led Mark Fernandes of Sierra Ventures, with participation from existing investors Revolution Ventures, KGC Capital, and Tom Williams.

Founded in 2015 and led by Michael Burdick and Dan Wywrot, Paro is on a mission to disrupt the $150 billion “antiquated” accounting industry. The startup matches businesses of all sizes and industries with vetted financial analysts, CFOs, CPAs, and bookkeepers who have the domain expertise to tackle company-specific challenges on an on-demand basis.

In addition to connecting companies with experts, Paro also provides tools to help financial professionals become more efficient by automating a lot of their back office functions.

Bottom Line: Your next distribution partner.
