Oscar Raises $165 Million
NYC-based health insurer Oscar announced it has raised $165 million, led by Brian Singerman and Founders Fund and including 8VC, Verily Life Sciences, Fidelity, General Catalyst, Capital G, Khosla Ventures, and Thrive Capital, among others.
The round brings Oscar’s total funding to date to ~$892M.
The announcement follows new partnerships with industry leaders, such as Cleveland Clinic, Humana, and AXA.
“This is still only the beginning of Oscar’s journey. We need no reminder that the stakes are high – an opaque, uncompetitive system has led to skyrocketing premiums and deductibles, and far too many Americans have been asked to sacrifice their wages for health care they can’t afford to use. With every new member, Oscar can help bring the system a little closer to where it should be. Back to work” – Cofounders of Oscar Health, Mario Schlosser and Joshua Kushner.
