Ondo InsurTech Plc has expanded its partnership with Nationwide

Ondo InsurTech Plc has expanded its partnership with Nationwide to roll out LeakBot, a water damage prevention device, across 16 states.

Initially piloted in Ohio, LeakBot is now available to both new and existing Nationwide homeowners insurance customers as a standard offering. This expansion aligns with Nationwide’s “Predict and Prevent” strategy, part of its Smart Home Program, which leverages connected devices to alert homeowners to potential hazards.

The service, including free LeakBot devices and repair coverage, now reaches customers in Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, and other states, building on successful pilot results where LeakBot achieved a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of +87 and a customer satisfaction score of 4.9 out of 5. Ondo CEO Craig Foster called the expansion “a major step” in the company’s US strategy, highlighting the partnership’s role in securing demand while easing market entry for other U.S. insurers interested in the technology.

“Our strategy at Nationwide is to ‘Predict and Prevent’ and we have fully integrated LeakBot into our own platform to do this for water damage in our members homes.  The results so far have been remarkable and this has led us to already expand the distribution of LeakBot to our customers in these 15 new states.  Our ambition at Nationwide is for all of our customers to benefit from this type of Predict and Prevent technology as we believe that finding an issue and fixing it before it becomes a major problem is good for both the company and the customer.” – Mark Teets, Director Personal Lines Product Development at Nationwide.
