Omio partners with Companjon

Omio, a platform for booking trains, planes, buses, and ferries, announced the expansion of Omio Flex, which provides the ability to cancel journey tickets. Omio Flex will now allow train, bus, and ferry ticket holders the opportunity to cancel their journeys for any reason up to two hours before departure. In the event of cancellation, the customer will receive a payment of up to 80% of the purchased fare.

Companjon, the Dublin-based embedded insurance subsidiary of Mobiliar, will serve as risk carrier, underwriter, and policy manager for the ‘cancel for any reason’ solution, integrating its technology into Omio’s booking platform and ensuring a “seamless customer experience” for Omio users.

Omio Flex is available to users located in EEA countries.

Founded in 2013, Omio offers travel search and bookings for flights, trains, buses and other forms of transport across ~40 countries in Europe and Northern America. The startup has facilitated over 43 million rail, bus, ferry, and air travel bookings worldwide through its travel platform.
