Nubank now offers car insurance

Brazilian digital bank Nubank has introduced a new auto insurance coverage for users in Brazil.

The new offering is currently available is Curitiba, the capital and largest city in the state of Paraná, and in the coming months coverage will be offered in other regions in Brazil.

Users can buy coverage through the app, but it isn’t issued immediately. After users select the coverage type and provide some info, the insurance company analyzes the details, and if it’s a user’s first car insurance, a car inspection will be required, which can be carried out digitally through the Nubank app.

Nubank claims to have reached 70 million customers in Brazil late last year. The startup offers additional insurance products such as life insurance and cellphone insurance.
