Nous raises $9 million

Nous, the London-based startup helping households “get smart and stay vigilant to the cost-of-living crisis,” announced a $9 million seed financing round. Investors include Mosaic Ventures, Tom Blomfield (co-founder of GoCardless & Monzo), Marc Warner (co-founder & CEO of Faculty.ai), Dan Hegarty (founder & CEO of Habito), Eamon Jubbawy (co-founder of Onfido), Brent Hoberman, and ActiveHotels (Booking.com) co-founder Andy Phillipps.

Founded in 2021, Nous allows users to connect their bank accounts to later receive a free report that “takes the guesswork and uncertainty out of rising household costs.” The startup identifies essential household spending (energy, insurance, mortgage, broadband, and other subscription services) and it then tracks rate increases and inflation to show users how much their household costs will go up.

Nous plans to keep the report free and it is working on a paid monthly subscription where it will automatically keep a household on “fair tariffs with reliable providers.”
