NFP expands private wealth business in Ireland with Metis acquisition

NFP acquired Irish financial planning and investment advisory firm Metis Ireland as it continues to expand its private wealth business in Ireland.

Founded in 2014 and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland, Metis Ireland provides financial planning, investment advisory, and wealth structuring services to private clients, executives, and business owners from offices in Limerick and Dublin. Following the deal, Metis Ireland managing director Carl Widger will join NFP as head of Wealth and Financial Planning for NFP in Ireland, reporting to Colm Power, managing director of NFP in Ireland.

The acquisition adds to NFP’s recent expansion in Ireland, following deals for The HR Suite, Orca Financial Group, and HC Financial. NFP said the move supports its broader strategy to grow its pensions, employee benefits, commercial insurance, and wealth management capabilities in the market.
